Process Control>>Electric Valve Control Actuators

Exlar is changing the status quo!

For instrumentation and control engineers, an electric actuator probably brings to mind an asynchronous electric motor and some form of gear reduction that slowly moves a valve. Life cycles are short, response time is slow and overall performance is marginal when used for closed loop modulating control or high duty cycle valve automation applications.

Exlar has changed this status quo by introducing an electric actuator that out-performs traditional electric actuators, pneumatic and hydraulic technologies. With life counts in the hundreds of millions of cycles, response times in milliseconds and accuracy of 0.10%, a true electric control valve actuator has been born.

Three key technologies make Exlar actuators the new standard for electric actuation:

  • The use of a roller screw to convert the rotary motion of a high speed motor to a linear force
  • The use of a servo motor to effortlessly move the actuator in any direction
  • The use of direct feedback and controls to provide perfect positioning at all speeds and forces
