OVERVIEW The Cool Muscle line is comprised of two motor series, the CM1 series and the CM2 series. The CM1 series features high torque 24VDC closed loop motors. The CM2 series offers high-performance 100-240VAC closed loop AC servos. Its All in the Motor... The Vector drive software provides high torque and smooth motion at both low and high speeds. This makes the motor suitable for both high speed pick and place and dispensing machines, or slow speed pumps or feed systems. The programmable controller acts as an on board motion generator with a full range of features including S-Curve motion, torque controlled push routines, on the fly velocity change, external encoder following, and analog input speed or position adjustment. The motor can be activated using the Cool Muscle's digital inputs or can be directed via a direct connection to a computer via RS-232 or RS-485. Multiple Cool Muscles can be connected on either a RS-232 Daisy Chain network or on a RS-485 multi-drop network. Serial data can be passed along the network to individual motors, or a single motor can act as a co-ordinator for other motors on the network. The Cool Muscle interface language is called CML. CML is designed to be an easy to use language for motion development. To support CML, we have also developed Cool Works and CommManager to provide development support. Cool Works provides a terminal interface to the motor as well as a variety of utilities to simplify setup and programming. CommManager is an ActiveX control toolbox that shortens development time for Visual Studio projects, as well as any other Windows application environment that supports the ComObject interface format. |
